12.000 Latexfingers, Steel
Inspired by the gesture of the raised index finger I poured a seemingly endless repetition of 12,000 left latex fingers. The tips of the object are directed threateningly in an invisible firing line towards the observer. Similar to the emulsion layer of a film that blackens upon being exposed to light, the latex layer of the object oxidizes and becomes progressively darker.
The index finger not only stands for the moralizing gesture but also for the missing reflection and mobilization of hate, excludement and false information we face in times of contemporary online discourse.
